What to expect in your first pole or aerial class
So you’re thinking about booking your first pole or aerial class, what do you need to know?

How are you getting here?
We are located just off the main road down a little alley in between the Premier Express and the Ridgeway Surgery. Free parking is available but very limited, we recommend parking at the free car park at Astwood Children's park which is about a two minute walk from the studio.
Our address is: Unit D, Ridgeway Trading Estate, Feckenham Road, Astwood Bank, Redditch, B96 6DS
We ask students to arrive five minutes before class starts so that you’re ready to start on time. We have a toilet you can get changed in and cubbies for your belongings.

What do you need to wear?
For pole classes we recommend wearing shorts and a sports bra or top. Leggings can be worn for some beginner classes and flow classes but once you start working on climbs or seats you will need shorts so that you have leg grip on the pole. Please avoid moisturising or wearing fake tan on the day of your class as it will make it harder to grip the pole.
For aerial classes we recommend form fitting clothing, a sports top, vest, leggings and bare feet. We strongly advise against any loose clothing for aerial hoop or silks classes.
For all classes we ask you to remove any jewellery that could damage our equipment or yourself.

What do you need to bring with you?
We recommend bringing a bottle of water with you, and a small towel, like you would for the gym. Some students also use grip aids, similar to liquid chalk, to help grip the pole better. You can explore different grip aids here, or our instructors can advise which type of grip you may need in class. Most importantly just bring an excited ‘can-do’ attitude. Pole and aerial are not easy, no matter your fitness background, learning a new and challenging skill is hard and it is completely normal to not get things on your first, second or even 222nd attempt!

How many people are in classes?
On TeamUp you can see the maximum number of people allowed in each class. This is to ensure everyone gets the attention they need from our experienced instructors and to keep you safe. If you are booking with a friend, you both need to create a TeamUp account and book a class.

Still nervous?
That’s completely normal. The vast majority of people who start a new hobby or sport are nervous. Everyone in the studio at one point or another was brand new to it just like you, so they know how daunting it can be. We want you to be as comfortable as possible, so instructors will always be able to give you options to work on!
